Starlink Reimbursement Program 2026
Summary
The Louden Tribe is pleased to announce the implementation of a reimbursement program for Galena residents for expenses associated with the purchase and installation of Starlink (or similar satellite internet access) equipment. This program will reimburse up to $500 for equipment purchases and installation related materials, and a flat fee of $100 for installation labor, whether applicants hired someone or did it by themselves. Furthermore, the program will reimburse retroactively expenses incurred after 9/14/2022.
Eligible applicants are limited to Galena residents, and not limited to Tribal Members. There will be one reimbursement per households. The reimbursement is intended for residential purposes only, so institutional or commercial applicants are not eligible.
Louden Tribe will be accepting applications until June 30, 2026.

For this program, a household is defined as all people living together at a single physical address and sharing living accommodations (kitchen, bathroom, and main living areas). Only one reimbursement award will be provided by physical address, regardless of the number of residents.
How much is the reimbursement for?

Up to $500 for equipment and related installation materilals, and a flat-fee of $100 for installation labor.
What is the reimbursement for?

Starlink equipment (usually the kit includes antenna, modem, etc.), related materials (extension cables, poles, etc) and installation costs.
Can I include my monthly Starlink subscription costs in this reimbursement?

NO. The reimbursement is only for equipment and installation
Are non-Natives eligible?

YES. All residents in Galena are eligible.
Can I be reimbursed for installation costs?

YES. With any approved equipment, each applicant will be reimbursed a flat fee of $100. This includes any self-installation labor, and no receipts or invoices are required.
How do I apply?

The program requires completing TWO forms. The Application and an Equipment Agreement forms. You can get a copy at the Tribal Office, or download them, complete them, and submit them directly at the Tribal Office or at office@loudentribe.com witht he subject “Starlink Reimbursement Program Application 2026”.

YES. You must submit your applications before June 30, 2026
Will all applicants be reimbursed?

Hopefully YES, but… We estimate we would be able to reimburse about 140 households but reimbursements are not guaranteed. They will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, In case of conflict, Tribal Members and Elders will get priority.
Can I apply for more than one piece of equipment?

NO. The program is limited to one reimbursement per household

Are businesses eligible?

NO. At this time, only Residential Households are eligible for reimbursement.
In addition to your name and address, an applicant will need to provide the Serial Number for the equipment and a copy of the invoice from Starlink. Both can be found in the Starlink Application (see below).
What information should I provide?

Do I keep ownership of the equipment?

The Funding Agency supporting this program requires that the Tribe owns the equipment for a minimum of one year. To obtain the reimbursement you will have to sign the Equipment Agreement, that gives ownership of the equipment to the Tribe for 12 months. After this period, onwership will be reverted to the applicant.
This is only a bureaucratic requirement to guarantee that the equipment is not sold, tranferred, and moved outside Galena during that period. It should not affect users at all

What if I haven’t purchased the equipment already?

As long as you purchase the equipment AND submit the application before June 30, 2026, you can be eligible for a reimbursement.
What if I purchased the equipment long time ago?

If you purchased the equipment after 9/14/2022 (as per invoice) AND submit the application before June 30, 2026, you can be eligible for a reimbursement.
I am renting. Am I eligible?

YES. You are eligible as long as you are the owner of the equipment purchased and you (not your landlord) submit the application.
I am a Landlord. Am I eligible for a reimbursement in my rental home?
DEPENDS. You are eligible for only ONE reimbursement, so if you claim a reimbursement for your main residence, your rental home won’t be eligible. Your renter, however, can claim the reimbursement assuming that they purchase the equipment
I am the owner of a property used as a temporary rental (i.e. AirBNB). Is this property eligible?

NO. An AirBNB or other temporary rental is consider a commercial facility, therefore not eligible for reimbursement.
